I Can't Believe It...

I finally have a small break from work. Just long enough to open my christmas pressies, enjoy the day after and a day to get back into work mode. Oops my mistake, it turns out that I am working on Boxing Day - but... its a morning shift which makes me happy. I also have another client for my small Web Design business. It doesn't take much for me to be happy these days, and then again it doesn't take much to upset me either.

Anyway...you don't want to hear or read about me agonising about things that upset me...

Tama Looking Pathetic

I Hate My Job...

Not really, but I probably have reasonable enough cause to hate it. I have worked for five nights in a row, no morning shifts all night shifts. I am tired and irritable, and I sleep really late. I am not enjoying it. However I did get my camera back. We reckon its been sitting at the store for almost a month now, becuase we never got a phone call from them. Mum had to go in an discover the fate of it. They ended up ringing back, and when I got home from work last night, it was waiting for me on my bed, in perfect working order, so i took a photo this morning just to get back into it. I think I still have it.

I better round this post off and get ready for work again.

Busyness

Last night at work was flat out. We had a whole load of customers wanting our hot food and petrol. In all the confusion we left out a couple of orders, we got those sorted out, after a crazy arrogant woman who is a regular at caltex laid into us. And she told us that she was going to see our boss today. With any luck he will ignore her. If not Tanya and I will have to explain that we were flat out and lost track of things. Howver we called out the woman's granddaughter's order twice but she didn't come and get them, knowing her she probably expected us to take her order to her. All high and mighty Sacred Heart student. We weren't in the wrong here. I only hope that our other boss knows that, as she is still under a little stress.

Full Time Work

I am now on a full time work schedule. 4 days on 3 days off, thats on top of all the shifts I do when other staff members can't make it. And since it's nearing Christmas and New Year our bosses are getting a little testy and stressed. We will forgive them when this all blows over. This morning when I was listening to National Radio at the breakfast table I was listening to an exchange between politicians happening in the House of Reps. I said to myself 'what is our political system coming to.' All that could be heard was petty arguing and jibing with the opposition and fellow party members. I bet if you listened properly you could here the Madam Speaker having a giggle to herself too. The weather at home has been interesting again. It's a real fine day but there is a really strong wind blowing. It howls under the upstairs deck, makes the doors rattle and the house shake. It's almost as if nature doesn't want our house here and wants to move it somewhere appropriate. What a site that would be... a gigantic orange barn flying through the air.

Camera Worries

I still have no word on the fate of my precious digital camera. I can't remember when I got it sent away. They said it would be gone for about 2 weeks, Seeing as I forgot when it got sent away I have no idea if it's been 2 weeks yet. I did the lawns this morning which wasn't too bad and the chooks were mightily unimpressed with what they got for breakfast and as always the cats were excited as ever with the slop that comes out of the can. With the chores out of the way. I hauled my laptop out of its case and positioned myself at the dinner table and did some fine tuning to my clients website. I also got me a new email address for clients and possible clients to contact me by. Tomorrow I have a physio appointment and a meeting with my client to discuss and view the website. Then after that I have to work til 10. So it's gonna be an action packed day tomorrow. I will have to tell the physio that i've been on the waiting list for surgery for 5 months now and that surgery is imminent early next year at the earliest. From here my work schedule is going to be almost "Opressive" with my boss as the restrictive military dictator, ruling her caltex domain from her small white office. Rarely seen, eternally feared. Haha, nah Karen's an awesome boss, Strict, but you can't have a boss who is soft on you can you. Tomorrow I will have to accompany mum into town so I have a method of transport, and also I am going to build her School Library website for her. With any luck I will get positive referrals from Mum and my other client.

Sunday

I must admit, my post titles are a little boring.Today not a lot happened. I walked with Lucy down to the Tirohanga Store to get a paper and an ice-cream. The day passed pretty boringly. I negotiated with mum and dad to do the lawns tommorrow. We had a thick flaky Ham and Egg pie which was wonderful. I stayed up not too late playing a computer game. I have been almost flat out designing this website for my client.

Saturday

I had a great day today. I slept late then went over the hill to Whakatane. I bought myself a few CD's: Queen and Snow Patrol. On my way home, I paid a visit to a client of mine who has commissioned me to build her a website for promotional stuff. With a firm plan in mind, I drove home and spent a few hours on the basic template then asked for approval. I also spent a few hours with Juanita. We went for a 3 hour walk, which was great fun. I also spent most of the night organising the purchase of 2 domain names. The weather was interesting. Driving into town there was a tiny bit of road that hads rain on it. There was no rain in Ohope until halfway up the Ohope Hill where there was a slight drizzle. It was hosing down at The Hub and to a lesser extent in the CBD of Whakatane. There was overcast weather on the drive back but it was quite windy at times. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Auckland Day 2

I had one hell of a sleep. The bed was too short and the traffic flow was almost constant. We had a great breakfast at a place called Kenzies before proceeding to Starship. After a bit of confusion at an intersection we found ourselves on the right road. We arrived with time to spare which proved useful as we ended up having to wait an hour for some more X-Rays. The X-Rays didn't take too long, and I was sent back upstairs to await the specialist. Bristling with anticipation I found that the specialist was a nice man. We discussed the pros and cons of the surgery and not having the surgery. We also talked about the complications that could arise. I have already decided I am going to go "Under The Knife". We also met the Spine Nurse, a very nice lady by the name of Tina, she went over the surgical preparation, recovery periods and such. Leaving Auckland we stopped at the Autobahn Cafe just off the Motorway. We stopped at Thomas' flat to retrieve his bike and some CD's. We had a nice dinner of takeaways pizza and chips. After that I went over to Grandma's and went over the whole days events, and had some more dinner with them.

Auckland Day 1

Welcome to Hobbiton, originally uploaded by enetheru_2006.

Today was clearace day at School. I got all my school subjects signed off and recieved my school magazine. At 1:50 I hauled myself off the couch and drove back to school where I initiated a luggage transfer from mum's car to dad's car, before depositing mum's car at Kurt's. At was after two -which happened to be the time we planned to leave- when we finally left school. We had a slight delay at BP when Dad started talking about Bus Routes. At long last we were underway. It was smooth sailing ahead albeit a hot sailing. Delays were still present, in the form of Roadworks. We stopped in Matamata -or Hobbiton to all those tolkein fiends out there- for a lunch break. Upon hitting the motorway there was a bit of indecision about which exit to take. We eventually settled on Newmarket which took us almost entirely to our Hotel. We stayed in a fairly nice hotel, The Kingsgate Parnell. We had a delicious dinner at what looked like a small family run Italian Restaurant, an absolutely delicious Sirloin Steak. Further up the road I had a delicious Caramel Frappé at a place called The Chocolate Boutique. There Dad and I debated about whether or not we knew the girl who was serving is. Turned out we did. After feeling slightly bloated we began to walk back to the hotel whilst sipping our drinks. Sitting in my bed I could hear the almost constant flow of traffic outside my window thundering along Gladstone Road. I wasn't too concerned because I was unsure how much sleep I would actually get.

Perfect Summers Day

This is everything I get to look forward to since my exams are finished. Cloudless Days, White Sands, Calm Breeze, Ocean

Exams Are Over

Finally, I can't believe it. My NCEA exams are finally over. Can you believe it, having my final exam on the finaly day of exams. Now I can have a relaxing afternoon before heading into town for a haircut. Tomorrow is Clearance Day - the last official day for the senior students. Then we all know what happens then seeing as i've been talking about it for a long while. However I will refresh your memories. I am going to Auckland so I can see the specialist about my Bendy Spine. I have secured a few days of work to see him. I can't help but think its cool in a weird sort of way. It's not everyday you get to say to somebody "Hey guess what, I have Idiopathic Scoliosis." Its more fun when I recieve blank stares. That way I get to explain to them about the rather serious looking bend. What is more entertaining is when they get all freaked out by it. As my physio said "You are a seriously twisted boy." I think he meant that literally about my spine, but I haven't quite gotten my head arond the figurative side of his little joke.

My Bendy Spine

T Minus 3 Days

The days are slowly counting down. Tomorrow is my final exam for Music, which will be entirely theory based. You can read about my music preparation in the preceeding posts. The day after is that is Seniors Clearance Day which involves clearing out our lockers, handing in borrowed text books (sadly my Geography teacher won't get one of his exam papers back from me because I never found it when my car was broken into), getting our school magazines and selecting our subjects for next year for the final time. After Clearance Day it's into the car and driving up to Auckland to spend the night in some cheapy accomodation the night before my impending appointment with the specialist. There we will most likely get the final word about the severity and if I will need correctional surgery

Sunday, December 03, 2006

Work was interesting last night. A fellow employee asked me as a favour if I could come in at 2 instead of 3. I agreed because I am going to need the money. So I arrived at 2 and she went home. It was at that moment that we had a huge rush of customers. At 3 o'clock my other workmate arrived at the end of the previous shift. We had a steady flow of customers, then at about 9 o'clock we started to hear what sounded like choppers overhead. I gazed skyward but couldn't see anything. At 10 o'clock I finally finished the tank dips, I had a slight delay because some bee-keepers trucks were on top of the tank cover. I finally managed to make it to my car and drive home.
The highlights of the night was handing over the toilet key to a couple of really drunk girls then watching them get picked up by the cops for smashing a bottle on the road. Watching them pick up all the glass was hysterically funny, then watching them accompanying the police down to the station.
All in all it was a good night, the only sad thing is that there is still no word on my camera.

T Minus 8 Days and Counting

Today happens to be the 1st of December, which can mean at least three things.
  • I have 8 days until I see the specialist in Auckland
  • I have 6 days until my final exam: Music
  • Christmas is almost upon us

I have been studying for my music exam most of the day. I am getting incredibly sick of identifying music terms, defining Italian Musical Terms and constantly looking at excerpts of music and identifying "Which Chord is used in Bar 5" I am going to be so glad when my exams have finally finished. That way all I have to worry about is my specialist appointment two days after. Im sure everything will be fine. The other day I found out that my father had started a blog called Principalpossum. I'll have the link here and also link to it from my Sidebar. The weather today was absolutely amazing. Hardly a cloud in the sky and the sun was shining almost constantly. Overall this has to be one of my best days these holidays. The only bad thing is that I had to send my Camera away for repair, the backlight wasn't working. Not the most pleasent thing to happen to a camera. I'm looking forward to another day of study tomorrow.

Grey Days

Today the weather seemed to reflect my mood. It started of violently windy, which wasn't much of a reflection. However after I dragged myself out of bed at around midday, then the skies opened and it started to pour down with rain. That is what I was feeling. In just under two weeks I get to see the specialist in Auckland, but before this meeting I have to some study for my final exam which is Music. So I get to study hard on Italian music terms, and have to study some Musical Analysis. My aural skills are quite satisfactory enough according to my teacher then I can finally forget my exams and not have to worry until my results arrive.

English

I have my english exam this afternoon and I am absolutely freaking out. I've done a load of study but I still don't know if I'm ready yet. I'm already feeling the pressure. I have had to study things such as as Unfamiliar Texts, War Poetry and Films.

--------half a day passes----------

Well that exam wasn't so painful. I found that some of the questions were very similar to what I has studied so I had a good time in the exam. After I was interrogated by my English Teacher, he said that because I was so confident, I would be "Set up to fail" How Encouraging

1st Exam

I had my first exam this morning, Media Studies. It took me a long while to consider myself ready for this exam. In a final act of desperation I hurriedly read over my notes and model answers at the breakfast table. I anxiously watched the time on the stove and at 8:40 I finally left. Upon arriving at my exam I discovered several things
  • I was the only one from my Media Studies Class in the Exam
  • I wasn't in the Hall
  • I had to share the classroom I was in, with the Year 13 Physics Exam

I must admit I was a little disappointed with my fellow class members.

Now that my first exam is over, Mum has given me the afternoon off so I can do a little relaxation before studying for my second exam which is english. So I have all of tomorrow to study for english, which is an afternoon examl.

Updates...Yay

Its been a while since I last posted and I am deeply ashamed of myself. School is finally finished for the Senior Classes and we had senior prizegiving last night and I myself recieved two prizes. I got First Place in Year 12 Media Studies and the Breezmere Prize for Services To Music. The only other year 12 to recieve a special prize was a girl in my Chem class. It was a truly fantastic night and I took a heap of pictures. The only let down was when the batteries in my camera died. It was an emotional night for some, teachers including. The classs of 2006 is sorry to leave our fine school. We also farewelled a few of the teaching staff who will be sorely missed. Now to get knuckled down and study for my first exam, which incidentally is Media Studies.

Back Envy

Today I discovered I may have a condition previously unknown to man. I think it is called Back Envy. Whenever I see someone with a straight back/spine I am incredibly jealous.
Today I finally got a letter from Starship Childrens Hospital confirming an appointment so I can finally get another professional opinion on the fate of my spine. Apparently surgery is going to be a final option. Its quite scary but also really neat at the same time.
So it will now be me and my Back Envy until I finish my exams.

Focus Change

i am going to change the main focus of my blog. For the time being, I am going to chronicle the incredible saga of my Scoliosis. My latest specialist appointment has revealed that recieving an operation/surgical treatment is by far the best option and will eliminate any further back problems including pain. My specialist from Tauranga asked if we had heard from the specialist surgeon in Auckland, he was very surprised that we hadn't. So sometime in the next few weeks we should expect to hear from him. Its all very exciting. And in other news my Aunt who also keeps a blog came and visited us for a few days. It was great to catch up with her because it seems that whenever she visits i am somewhere else and miss her totally. Today she left to go to her next destination; Wellington

Weekends a Coming

Day Off School

Today was a day off school for all those students who have met the 85% attendance rate and completed all their work in class. So I am sitting here at home writing on my blog...not the most effective use of my time because I could probably be studying right now. I also have to mow the lawns again. I wish dad would just get the round-up out and spray the whole lot into oblivion. Dreams are free. This october is National Breast Cancer Awareness Week and I am doing my part-I have purchased a wristband to help the NZ Cancer Society do their great work. I am also working on a couple of small side projects in my spare time, these include my Novel and my Short Film whose titles will remain under wraps for now...you know, I don't want anyone swiping my brilliant ideas. I better go, those lawns aren't gonna mow themselves. Dammit blogging is as addictive as Bebo, "Don't Judge Me!!!!

Helicopter Visit

Well...Today at school we recieved a visit from a New Zealand Air Force helicopter. I personally didn't see the point of it coming here when the only people interested in the Air Force are those people who want to get killed in some foreign country and our cadets. After this visit I had a long chat with my chemistry teacher about the current political situation. It was rather refreshing to share my views on foregin politics with someone on the same plane as myself. Tomorrow is a day off school so I can revise for my Chemistry Exam at the end of the year. When I get home today I will post an image of what I took on my new camera.

Happy Birthday To Me

Hey all,

I had my 17th birthday a few days ago and got some awesome presents, although I must admit I had to wait a while for them as it was the Motu Challenge that day but boy the wait was worth it. I got a truly awesome Digital Camera, a couple of books, a DVD, a new Razor and Shaving Cream and a heap of CDs including The Jam, Crowded House and Spliz Enz. I will post a pic I took on my camera when I upload them to my computer. And last night I had to phone the Fire Brigade because a log on the beach was on fire. Thats the second emergency service I have had to ring besides the Police. I am just dreading that I'm gonna have to ring the ambulance at some point

Photoshop Is Astounding

I was mucking about on Photoshop for my photography board and i think i produced something quite spectacular

Comments on this photo are appreciated

Its Been A While

It's been a while since my last update. There is some big things happening in this small town of ours. This Saturday the 14th October is the second largest multisport event in the country: The Motu Challenge. It will also be my birthday. I can't wait. Anyway.. The Motu Challenge is 175km I think and involves cycling, running and kayaking. I don't really have a huge amount of stuff to say but i'm just touching base with my readers, thats if I have any still.

My Exams are 5 school weeks away then i will be able to complete NCEA Level 2 and also gain University Entrance. No doubt I will have a huge amount of study to do on top of my work schedule.

My final film for Media Studies is now complete. It is entitled "The Slaying" and is about a new generation of vampire who is able to survive in the light. The film chronicles the main characters quest to slay him.

And finally as a side project I am documenting my Father's team's competing in the Motu Challenge and hopefully make it into a documentary of sorts.

And to top it off, today is Friday the 13th, and last night my car was broken into whilst I was at work. The only thing the thieves took was my backpack which only had school books in it. That wasn't the funnest night of my life but I must admit it was kind of exciting.

Until next time

My annoyance with my photography teacher has vanished. However enough about school work. This coming monday I have finally been scheduled for my MRI of my Brain and Spine. I have to be there at 9:55 am, and it is in Tauranga so I have to wake up so early. They estimate that I may be scanned for 15-20 minutes, and I am allowed to take a CD, so I may take The Corrs. They are my new music obsession. I love how they use traditional celtic instruments in their music like Bodhran, Tin Wistles and Ocarinas. As promised I would post some photos from my Photography board.

Annoyance

I am very annoyed. My photography teacher had a look at my thumbnail sketches for my first line on my Board. He then ordered me to print off certain pictures which I did. After having a close look at them, he then said and i quote "There is not enough here to work with, you need to take some more photos" Then the other night, i sliced my finger open whilst chopping onions for dinner. It hasn't been a fun week for me.

I also got a letter from Tauranga Hospital. I finally get my MRI scan of Spine and Brain so they can have a good look at my Idiopathic Scoliosis. I can't wait. Next monday is going to take forever to arrive.

My school life is going wonderfully. I have begun writing my script for my latest Media Studies film and have almost got my first line on my photography board almost done. And to cap it all off, I have a physio appointment today

First Of June

Well faithful readers, it is now the First Of June. Our school ball is approaching fast and the theme is "The Secret Garden" I have also got me a partner. Queens Birthday is also approaching, which means I get a three day weekend, which will give me time to catch up on some Chemistry Homework, and finish my arrangement for Jazz Combo, oh yeah, I have a lead role in our schools Jazz Band Combo. I play the Flute but also double on the Alto Saxophone. I am arranging Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street Blues" to fit with all our instruments. And I sincerely apologise to the readers of the Serial Story on my other page, I hope to have Parts Four, Five and Six up soon, perhaps after Queens Birthday.

I am now back on track with my blogging. I am back at school for Sixth Form. and am doing NCEA Level 2. I hope to keep this blog up-to-date as the school year progresses. I also encourage other readers of my blog to have a read of the story on my other blog. It will be changed to include the revised story. I am also enjoying reading the comments on my blog. Its great to get the feedback and to find out what others think of the blog
